The Pastoralist Environment Association in Kassala State (PEAKS) is a community led local organization operating in the Kassala State of Eastern Sudan.
PEAKS major aims is to improve the livelihood of pastoralists in Eastern Sudan by addressing the serious lack of animal food there. This is caused by rain scarcity in the long drought seasons which affects this area as well as many other parts of Sudan.
Our Focus
We help pastoralist and agro-pastoralist children, families, and communities break the cycle of poverty by empowering people of all ages to dream, aspire and achieve.
Education
Supporting the teaching children helps for a brighter future, one in which they can the effective citizens of the nation.
Women Empowerment
Supporting women through entrepreneurship and micro-business model enables them to enhance their role in their society.
Environment
Rehabilitating the degraded ecology of the Kassala state can contribute to the livelihoods of the pastoralist communities especially effective management of Prosopis.
