Nefisa

Nefisa is one of the women who participated in the first capacity building scheme (business skills) organised by PENHA-PEAKS which was held under the Women Economic Empowerment Programme (WEEP) - funded by DANIDA. She is one of the women who organised groups to share the experiences, gain skills and help each other to solve their common socio-economic problems and devise alternative ways of improving their lives.

Women groups in Kassala being helped by PEAKS in collaboration with PENHA have been improving their handicraft work and its productivity. The activity has attracted the active engagement of the women as it brought the indigenous skills and the modern artistic works together where women are able to generate alternative income to their households.

Nomadic children

Pastoralist and agro-pastoralist children in Kassala State of Sudan have been getting educational support from PEAKS with the help of the strategic partner PENHA and also donor community from the UK. The Nomadic Education programme includes supporting the curriculum development that fits with the livelihoods of the pastoralists, education materials, sport equipments and tree planting that promotes sustainable environment.
